Bluhalo’s parent company, Gyro International Limited and US-based integrated agency HSR business-to-business LLC, have announced this week that they have merged to form GyroHSR.
GyroHSR is an international integrated marketing agency dedicated to creating powerful ideas that build deeper, more meaningful relationships between people and brands. The agency’s offering includes advertising, brand strategy, digital, public relations, media and relationship marketing, with Bluhalo representing the groups digital Centre of Excellence.
The new entity has 17 offices in 15 cities in 9 countries across Europe, North America and the Middle East. Combined revenues total approximately $100 million (USD) and GyroHSR employs more than 600 employees.
“Both Gyro and HSR recognise and embrace the changes that we are seeing in the world of marketing and communications, and this is our response,” said Richard Glasson, Chief Executive of GyroHSR. “This merger creates an agency uniquely positioned to meet the needs of our clients around the world, and able to deliver the truly integrated service that the modern world demands. Through clear thinking, compelling creative work, strategic excellence and a seamless international operation, GyroHSR will work with clients to deliver winning business results.”
The GyroHSR merger creates a new international digital powerhouse, and combines significant expertise in a number of key vertical sectors, including technology, telecommunications, building products, financial services, capital equipment and life sciences. The merger also brings together Europe’s largest b-to-b agency with one of America’s largest and most highly decorated b-to-b firms. Gyro has been named Europe’s largest b-to-b agency by B2B Marketing magazine for four years in a row. HSR has been named Top Agency by BtoB magazine and the Business Marketing Association International 10 times since 1995, most recently in April of this year.
Glasson will direct the new agency’s overall strategy and operations from London with Richard Perry continuing in the role of Chief Operating Officer. HSR co-founder Rick Segal becomes Chief Executive, North America and GyroHSR’s global practice leader for business-to-business marketing, headquartered in Cincinnati.
“GyroHSR has 30 years of experience in mining deep customer insights from diverse, multi-participant networks of decision makers and influencers,” said Segal. “From the world’s most heavily considered business purchases to the fashion brushfires of consumer electronics, GyroHSR knows how to ignite connections and convert them to sales, category leadership, and customer loyalty.”
Bluhalo MD and Founder, Spencer Gallagher, added, "these are exciting times for Bluhalo, with the merger opening up an even greater network of marketing professionals to our clients. I am very much looking forward to the opportunities this will bring."

maxIIGyro launches Bluhalo Germany
Responding to the growing importance of the digital sector in the communication business the German Gyro group has formed a pure digital offering under the Bluhalo brand, forming Bluhalo Germany.
This move, in close co-operation with Bluhalo headquarters in Farnborough, follows two strategic business development routes: expanding the successful Bluhalo brand into the German market, thus providing international reach for existing and future Bluhalo clients. Whilst at the same time, expanding and profiling maxIIGyro´s services in the digital environment.
Daniel Fischer (Management) and Christopher Quente (Creative), two experienced and well-respected experts will lead this operation. They have been working as a team in the digital field for more than eight years.
Presenting our offering to the market has proved successful right from the start, with several large client wins within weeks of launch, and many exciting projects, pitches and business opportunities currently in the pipeline.
To contact Bluhalo Germany, email germany@bluhalo.com.

Bluhalo - we're a global digital agency
It's not often we use our blog for self promotion, but for those of you out there interested in finding out a little bit more about Bluhalo, here are some facts for you:
- Bluhalo was formed in 1999 - yes, we survived the dotcom crash!
- We're one of the EMEA's fastest growing digital agencies
- We work with a variety of clients - large and small - from diverse industry sectors
- We're a full service digital agency - we don't just design and build websites - from digital strategy, audience profiling and user experience, through to technical builds, integrations and all aspects of digital marketing - we really do provide a full service to our clients
- We're a global digital agency - with 25 offices, in 18 locations across 10 countries - if you're looking for an agency to help you with a big budget global digital campaign, we can certainly help; if you're looking for an agency to help you with a low budget, local digital project, we can definitely help with that too. We're as big or as small as you want us to be!
And last but not least...
- Our mantra - it's been with us since 1999 and it works, so we still keep this at the heart of all of our projects "By making our clients successful, we will make ourselves successful". Our clients' success is at the core of all we do. If it won't work, we won't recommend it (sounds obvious but you'd be surprised!). We deliver ROI, meet KPI's and we care about our clients' businesses; because if we help them become more successful, not only will we ultimately help ourselves become more successful, we quite like the kudos that comes with it too!
Whatever your digital plans, we'd love to hear from you, so give us a call on 01252 70 11 11 or email getintouch@bluhalo.com.

Gyro's G10K success!
Sunday 7th September saw Gyro's 2008 G10K take place and what a resounding success it was!
Entries were received from over 400 runners raising £10,000 alone, with sponsorship looking likely to more than double this amount.
The event takes place in Chiswick, beginning on the Civil Service playing fields at Dukes Meadows and setting off westbound towards Chiswick Bridge. After crossing the bridge, the course follows the towpath and road along the south side of the Thames River, all the way to Hammersmith Bridge. The return route follows the footpaths on the north side of the river, leading directly back to Dukes Meadows.
The event is a fun family day with a BBQ, bouncy castle and children's entertainer and raises money for SportsAid, with 100% of entry fees going to the charity to assist them in their great work helping talented young athletes take the right steps on the beginnings of their paths to success. Visit the SportsAid website to find out more about the charity.
Our very own Spencer Gallagher was there and completed the 10K course in a very respectable 49mins 31secs, putting him in 75th place overall - a much more pleasant distance than the London Marathon that he took part in earlier this year!

Why Bluhalo is brilliant!
At Bluhalo, we’re happy to admit that we don’t get everything right all the time! What we do is try our best every time and we always try to be brilliant!
We have a great team here at Bluhalo (we think the best!) and as a team, we came up with a definitive list of why we love (yes love) working at Bluhalo. It’s no PR stunt and the list came from each and every member of our team. So here it is, why Bluhalo is brilliant…
Symfony, the PHP framework. We all seem to love it and although it seems odd that we should feel for one piece of technology so much, working with Symfony has proven to be a great learning curve for our developers, as well as injecting a huge leap forward in the way and efficiency with which we develop our websites. We concluded that alongside Symfony, we have a lot of great technology in the business.
The office. For years we were in 500 year old Tudor Barns. Ok, it was a cool place to work, on the farm with the sound of the horses in the background… but, today, our offices are much slicker, very minimalistic and most importantly they are modern and something to be proud of.
The work. It’s challenging, interesting, we have some impressive client names and most importantly, there is a great variety!
The openness. We have regular team meetings and everyone knows almost everything that goes on at Bluhalo. As a result people feel secure and valued.
The people. It comes up every time we conduct this exercise! The people at Bluhalo are fun, friendly and welcoming. There is a great mix of skills and abilities and the variety of personalities is fantastic. There are always people you can rely on and there are a number of key team members that are always supportive. Everyone is passionate about the internet – you’d expect that right?!
Fun. We have great parties, regular team outings (last month it was go-karting), fresh fruit delivered every week and we have a Wii – this week it’s Wii Wimbledon!
Food. People did joke that they love the leftover meeting food – not sure about that one, but our Friday late afternoon get-togethers are good – we take a little bit of time out at the end of the day to have a drink (non-alcoholic if we’re driving of course!) and spend some social time with our colleagues.
Better than the rest. A lot of our team have experienced working in a variety of agencies and it was concluded that we are just as good, if not better than any of the top London agencies. Our working environment, technology, job satisfaction and ethics (to name a few) are streets ahead of any agency any of our team has worked at – including some top London agencies!
Our website. Everyone is very proud of our website and blog – how many companies can say that! We practice what we preach when it comes to digital – what better way to show that it works than with our own site?!
Team problem solving. If there are issues – client or internally, the majority of the time they are solved quickly and successfully by the team.
Spencer. OK, so it sounds cheesy but not everyone loves their boss right? Everyone at Bluhalo agreed that we thrive on Spencer’s drive and enthusiasm.
Career. Bluhalo does not just give people jobs, it gives them a career. We have loads of opportunity for career development, and with our new parent company, Gyro International, there should be even more potential to develop exciting and potentially international careers!
So that’s all from our list for now. Hopefully it goes some way to show that we’re not just a logo and a turnover figure and our list of likes has come from real team members, not a PR agency!
