Bluhalo's International Network Expands

Bluhalo’s parent company, Gyro International Limited and US-based integrated agency HSR business-to-business LLC, have announced this week that they have merged to form GyroHSR.

GyroHSR is an international integrated marketing agency dedicated to creating powerful ideas that build deeper, more meaningful relationships between people and brands. The agency’s offering includes advertising, brand strategy, digital, public relations, media and relationship marketing, with Bluhalo representing the groups digital Centre of Excellence.

The new entity has 17 offices in 15 cities in 9 countries across Europe, North America and the Middle East. Combined revenues total approximately $100 million (USD) and GyroHSR employs more than 600 employees.

“Both Gyro and HSR recognise and embrace the changes that we are seeing in the world of marketing and communications, and this is our response,” said Richard Glasson, Chief Executive of GyroHSR. “This merger creates an agency uniquely positioned to meet the needs of our clients around the world, and able to deliver the truly integrated service that the modern world demands. Through clear thinking, compelling creative work, strategic excellence and a seamless international operation, GyroHSR will work with clients to deliver winning business results.”

The GyroHSR merger creates a new international digital powerhouse, and combines significant expertise in a number of key vertical sectors, including technology, telecommunications, building products, financial services, capital equipment and life sciences. The merger also brings together Europe’s largest b-to-b agency with one of America’s largest and most highly decorated b-to-b firms. Gyro has been named Europe’s largest b-to-b agency by B2B Marketing magazine for four years in a row. HSR has been named Top Agency by BtoB magazine and the Business Marketing Association International 10 times since 1995, most recently in April of this year.

Glasson will direct the new agency’s overall strategy and operations from London with Richard Perry continuing in the role of Chief Operating Officer. HSR co-founder Rick Segal becomes Chief Executive, North America and GyroHSR’s global practice leader for business-to-business marketing, headquartered in Cincinnati.

“GyroHSR has 30 years of experience in mining deep customer insights from diverse, multi-participant networks of decision makers and influencers,” said Segal. “From the world’s most heavily considered business purchases to the fashion brushfires of consumer electronics, GyroHSR knows how to ignite connections and convert them to sales, category leadership, and customer loyalty.”

Gyro Euro Cup

As a keen footballer I snapped up the chance to play in the annual Gyro Euro Cup, Gyro London vs Rest of the World. Myself and my skillfully gifted colleague travelled up the M6 on a typical English dreary day, perfect weather for football.

As we pulled up to Didsbury AFC we got acquainted with the ground and our new team mates. As I pulled my musty ankle support from my bag and sorted which number I was going to wear, I heard a deep northern voice.. “Alright lads?” As I looked up I thought… hmmm, he looks a bit like Bryan Robson…… THAT IS BRYAN ROBSON!. Unknown to me he was playing on our team. If you know about football he doesn’t need any introduction, but if you don’t have a clue about football, he is probably one of the best England captains our nation has ever had. I must admit I was totally awestruck! As it slowly sunk in, it dawned upon me that I was going to be playing with an ex-England captain. The nerves quickly took hold of me. Who am I to be playing along side Bryan Robson?

We lost the game 6-4, no thanks to two own goals (which would have been cracking goals if they were in the right net). The result didn’t matter to me, for 45 minutes I was playing alongside Robson, literally, I was right back and he was centre half. After the match we all had a cheeky beer and headed back down the M6 with beaming smiles on our faces.

It is something I will never forget and I will probably bore my friends and family to death with it for years to come.

Gyro's G10K success!

Sunday 7th September saw Gyro's 2008 G10K take place and what a resounding success it was!

Entries were received from over 400 runners raising £10,000 alone, with sponsorship looking likely to more than double this amount.

The event takes place in Chiswick, beginning on the Civil Service playing fields at Dukes Meadows and setting off westbound towards Chiswick Bridge. After crossing the bridge, the course follows the towpath and road along the south side of the Thames River, all the way to Hammersmith Bridge. The return route follows the footpaths on the north side of the river, leading directly back to Dukes Meadows.

The event is a fun family day with a BBQ, bouncy castle and children's entertainer and raises money for SportsAid, with 100% of entry fees going to the charity to assist them in their great work helping talented young athletes take the right steps on the beginnings of their paths to success. Visit the SportsAid website to find out more about the charity.

Our very own Spencer Gallagher was there and completed the 10K course in a very respectable 49mins 31secs, putting him in 75th place overall - a much more pleasant distance than the London Marathon that he took part in earlier this year!
