Gyro's G10K success!

Sunday 7th September saw Gyro's 2008 G10K take place and what a resounding success it was!

Entries were received from over 400 runners raising £10,000 alone, with sponsorship looking likely to more than double this amount.

The event takes place in Chiswick, beginning on the Civil Service playing fields at Dukes Meadows and setting off westbound towards Chiswick Bridge. After crossing the bridge, the course follows the towpath and road along the south side of the Thames River, all the way to Hammersmith Bridge. The return route follows the footpaths on the north side of the river, leading directly back to Dukes Meadows.

The event is a fun family day with a BBQ, bouncy castle and children's entertainer and raises money for SportsAid, with 100% of entry fees going to the charity to assist them in their great work helping talented young athletes take the right steps on the beginnings of their paths to success. Visit the SportsAid website to find out more about the charity.

Our very own Spencer Gallagher was there and completed the 10K course in a very respectable 49mins 31secs, putting him in 75th place overall - a much more pleasant distance than the London Marathon that he took part in earlier this year!
